Judy joined the Bureau when it was known as the Mutual Loss Research Bureau, and quickly became the go-to resource for member companies, conference presenters, and staff. When she retired in 2002, Judy was Assistance Vice President-Treasurer.
"Judy Bollman was the face of the PLRB for many years. She knew hundreds of people who worked for member companies, presented at PLRB conferences, and worked for claims service providers," said Thomas Mallin, President and CEO.
"When I came to work at the PLRB, Judy was the first person to greet me," he continued. "She put me at ease and helped ensure my then-future career here."
"At our conferences, she would staff the registration desk for the entire time it was open," remembered Mallin. "Often she would recognize a person approaching the desk to pick up their registration materials, greet them by name, and have their packet ready for them before they even reached the counter."
After retiring from the PLRB in 2002, Judy continued to maintain an interest in and a connection to the PLRB with weekly telephone calls to now-retired Property Legal Department attorney Laurie Pegler. "The staff would put together a kit of materials after each Claims Conference and send it to her," remembered Mallin. "She enjoyed receiving the materials and marveled at how the Conference had grown in the years since her retirement."
A memorial service was held September 12, 2015, at the Gary Memorial United Methodist Church in Wheaton, Illinois.
