Overview
The State Code of Florida requires that all municipalities and counties within the state enforce the most current (5th edition, 2014, effective 06/30/15) Florida Building Code, including Building, Residential and Existing Building Codes, at a minimum. Volusia County, FL, adopted the following appendices, Residential (Appendix A: (IFGS): Sizing and Capacities of Gas Piping; Appendix B: Sizing of Venting Systems Serving Appliances Equipped With Draft Hoods, Category I Appliances, and Appliances Listed for Use With Type B Vents; Appendix C: (IFGS): Exit Terminals of Mechanical Draft and Direct-Vent Venting Systems) and Existing Building (Appendix B: Standard for Rehabilitation, The Secretary of Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation and Guidelines for Rehabilitating Historic Buildings; Appendix D: Type of Construction) Codes. further amended the state code with additional, more stringent, provisions.
