The City and County of San Francisco amended the 2013 California Residential Code in chapter 36 of the amended San Francisco Building Code, by replacing the "2013 California Residential Code" with the chapters 1, 1A , and 2 through 35 from the amended 2013 San Francisco Building Code. San Francisco did not adopt Appendices A through Q, but replaced “Appendix R Areas Protected by the Facilities of the Central Valley Flood Protection Plan” with Appendix K [“Group R-3 and Group R-3.1 Occupancies Protected by the Facilities of the Central Valley Flood Protection Plan”] from the 2013 San Francisco Building Code. construction, typically merit extra consideration in a current updated code.
