Overview

Norfolk adopted the 2006 IBC with Amendments.  Norfolk, NE Municipal Code  § 6-16 (adoption) and § 6-18 (amendments).  Norfolk likewise adopted the 2006 IRC with Amendments.  Norfolk, NE Municipal Code  § 6-161 (adoption) and § 6-162 (amendments).

Residential Building Code

Nebraska adopted a model state residential code but it is not in force unless adopted locally.See PLRB, Nebraska Building Codes for more information on state level codes.

Norfolk adopted the 2006 IRC, locally. Note that adoptions usually come with amendments. So, it is important to review those amendments in addition to the unamended model code.

Norfolk adopted the 2006 IRC with Amendments.  Norfolk, NE Municipal Code  § 6-161 (adoption) and § 6-162 (amendments). 

 

Although the winder design temperature is 4 degrees, the amendments do not include a specification as to whether an ice barrier is required.

Existing buildings, meaning buildings that were built in accordance to code at the time of construction, typically merit extra consideration in a current updated code.

Appendix J does not appear to have been adopted.
