Overview

The city of Cologne, MN has adopted the following codes:

• 2003 Minnesota Building Code, based on the 2000 IBC.  Minn. R. § § 1305.0011. 
• 2003 Minnesota Residential Code, based on the 2000 IRC, with amendments. Minn. R. § 1309.0010.
• 2003 Minnesota Guidelines for the Rehabilitation of Existing Buildings, based on the 2000 GREB with amendments. Minn. R. § 1311.0010.

The State Building Code is the standard that applies statewide for the construction, reconstruction, alteration, and repair of buildings and other structures of the type governed by the code.. Minnesota Statutes Anointed § 326B.121-1(b) states: "The State Building Code supersedes the building code of any municipality." Minn. Stat. Ann. § 326B.121-1(b) (State Building Code)

Per telephone conversation with Michelle Morrison, City Clerk and PLRB staff member on Monday, May 13, 2019, the city of Cologne complies with MN State Fire Code.

Residential Building Code
