The “Hospitality in the Storm: Handling a Hotel Water Loss” course teaches insurance professionals how to handle catastrophe losses generally by exploring a claim scenario involving a water loss to a hotel. The module is presented by Steve Korasidas, Executive General Adjuster at McLarens, and Jeff Taxier, Education & Training Manager at American Technologies, Inc. The module walks adjusters through exploring a hotel loss, discussing issues with the insured, evaluating contractors, and working with a team to resolve a loss and get an insured back in business.

After completing the course, the attendee will be able to: prepare adequate equipment for working in potentially hazardous areas; identify potential issues with contractors and progress on a loss site; identify areas where water may have entered a building; examine a loss situation for coverage issues such as wind- driven rain; and analyze expert reports regarding remediation following a catastrophe loss.

The course is designed for insurance professionals working in the area of property adjusting.
