The City of Kodiak adopted some 2009 ICC codes and also uses updates from some of its previously adopted legacy Uniform Codes (from ICBO and IAPMO in 1997).

The amendments included the removal of IRC Chapter 11, IRC Chapters 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, and 33 and the insertion of the 2009 Uniform Plumbing Code. The amendments also removed IRC Chapters 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, and 43 and inserted the 2011 National Electrical Code, and other changes as amended. The adoption includes Appendix J of the 2009 IBC. Kodiak, Alaska., Muni Code § 14.04.010.
