Contacted Jeffery Scott, Botetourt County Building Official, (3/18/2020) who informed us that ice barriers are required.
Jefferey Scott stated "the design temperature for our locality is approximately 17 degrees Fahrenheit. This creates an environment where ice dams can occur so yes, ice barriers are required."
