Overview
The State Code of Florida requires that all municipalities and counties within the state enforce the most current (5th edition, 2014, effective 06/30/15) Florida Building Code, including Building, Residential and Existing Building Codes, at a minimum. Sec. 5-22. – Basic wind speed.
For the purposes of complying with the structural requirements related to wind loads, all buildings and structures shall be designed for a minimum wind load of one hundred twenty (120) miles per hour in accordance with Figure 1606 of the Florida Building Code.
