We were unable to locate any formal adoption of a residential code by Peru, IL. We reached out to the department and received no response regarding this matter. Some jurisdictions adopt the IRC by way of reference in the administrative chapters of the IBC. This could be the case for Peru, IL.

101.2 Scope. The provisions of this code shall apply to the construction, alteration, movement, enlargement, replacement, repair, equipment, use and occupancy, location, maintenance, removal and demolition of every building or structure or any appurtenances connected or attached to such buildings or structures.

Exception:

Detached one- and two-family dwellings and multiple single-family dwellings (townhouses) not more than three stories above grade plane in height with a separate means of egress and their accessory structures shall comply with the International Residential Code.

Commercial Building Code

Peru adopted the 2003 IBC, statewide with limitations. Note that adoptions usually come with amendments. So, it is important to review those amendments in addition to the unamended model code.
