Section R313.2 One-and two-family Dwellings Automatic Fire Systems. This requirement is optional until January 1, 2016. However, contractors and builders shall offer residential sprinklers as an option to the buyer/potential homeowner. If the buyer/potential homeowner declines the installation of sprinklers, they shall complete a form, provided by the Westmont Fire Department, and submit the fully completed form prior to the issuance of a building permit.
