Overview

After researching, we were unable to locate the building code adoption ordinance.

Eagle County, CO adopts the following codes:

  • The International Building Code, 2015 edition, including the generic fire-resistive assemblies listed in the Fire Resistance Design Manual and Appendix Chapters C, E, I, and J. Eagle County, CO Building Resolution § 3.2 (adopted) with amendments at § 3.05.
  • The International Residential Code, 2015 edition, including Appendix F. Eagle County, CO Building Resolution § 3.2 (adopted) with amendments at § 3.6.
  • The International Existing Building Code, 2015 edition. Eagle County, CO Building Resolution § 3.11 (adopted).

Contacted Vance Gabossi, Chief Building Official, (5/08/2020) who stated, "In the IRC it shall be per Chapter 9 and the manufacturer's installation instructions."

Eagle County, CO adopts the International Residential Code, 2015 edition, including Appendix F. Eagle County, CO Building Resolution § 3.6 (adopted) with amendments at § 3.6.

Existing Buildings

Existing buildings, meaning buildings that were built in accordance to code at the time of construction, typically merit extra consideration in a current updated code.

After researching, we were unable to locate the building code adoption ordinance.

There is no mention of the adoption of Appendix J of the 2015 IRC.

Commercial Building Code

Eagle County adopted the 2015 IBC, locally. Note that adoptions usually come with amendments. So, it is important to review those amendments in addition to the unamended model code.
