"Adjusting a Train Wreck - Literally"
New Session Added to 2015 Claims Conference Schedule
Educate - Innovate - Invigorate
A freight train has derailed and you are handling the claim. People were injured, there was property damage, cargo has been damaged, and for good measure a corrosive gas leak followed the wreck. Government agencies from the local fire department to multiple state and federal authorities are on the scene. This real-life scenario is discussed in "Adjusting a Train Wreck … Literally". This session has just been added to the 2015 Claims Conference schedule.
After attending this session, presented by Richard W. Booker, RPA AIC, Vericlaim, Inc. and Ken Gilvary, PE, Haag Engineering, attendees will be able to:
• evaluate the key issues to consider when handling a complex train derailment with multiple claims and policies;
• utilize experts to evaluate risk and resolve claim disputes; and
• identify and examine railroad liability coverage and property coverage for cargo and contents.
This is a new Claims Conference session. It has been included as part of the Large Property Loss curriculum.
Two sessions will be held: Tuesday, March 31 at 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. and Wednesday, April 1 at 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Those registered for the Claims Conference may modify their registration to add this new session; however, the new session may not be printed on the attendee's badge.
The educational session "Complex Adjustment Issues with an Institutional Fire Loss" will not be offered at the 2015 Claims Conference.
